Meet the Board
Leadership With the Mission at Heart.
Veteran Wellness Project is guided by people who believe that strong veteran communities are built through trust, consistency, service, and genuine relationships. Our Board helps protect the mission, guide the organization, build partnerships, and ensure that every program stays focused on what matters most: helping veterans find meaningful connection and community.

Aaron Bayne
"The ultimate freedom is the freedom to choose your own attitude." — Theodore Roosevelt
Aaron Bayne is a U.S. Army Aviation veteran, golf enthusiast, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the Veteran Wellness Project. His vision for VWP grew from a simple belief: you can't be isolated when you have an army standing beside you.
After leaving the military, Aaron came to understand that what many veterans miss most is the people—the friendships, shared purpose, accountability, and knowing someone has your back. VWP believes in meeting people where they are—much like Christ did—and walking alongside them. Through golf, shared experiences, and local community involvement, VWP creates opportunities for natural conversation, friendship, and connection.
Aaron is also a co-founder of Tactical Tour Time, whose relationship with VWP reflects another principle he strongly believes in: iron sharpens iron. Business, service, and community can strengthen one another when built with purpose. His vision is to grow VWP into a nationwide network of veterans and ambassadors committed to showing up for one another.
For Aaron, the mission is simple: No veteran walks alone.

Ray Orin
Director of Audit/Financial Services
"To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy." — Bruce Mclaren
Ray is a longtime military and veteran ally, engineer, business owner, and dedicated family man whose career has taken him from engineering for Disney to the power generation industry and, ultimately, entrepreneurship in Orlando. Throughout his career, he has brought a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and service to the people around him.
Although Ray did not serve in the military himself, his respect for those who did and his commitment to the veteran community run deep. His vision for the Veteran Wellness Project extends beyond helping veterans after they have already begun struggling with the transition to civilian life. He hopes to see VWP eventually work directly alongside the military branches, creating a bridge that allows service members to step from military service directly into a welcoming veteran community upon discharge.
Outside of work and VWP, Ray is a devoted family man and golf enthusiast—and when he gets the chance, you'll probably find him behind the wheel of his BMW M3, feeding his passion for Euro car racing.

Jon Starbuck
Co-founder/Director of Community Outreach
“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
United States Army Aviation veteran Jon Starbuck discovered a passion for golf and a desire to bring the veteran community together through the therapy of playing alongside like-minded individuals. His mission with Aaron is simple: to create a welcoming environment for veterans interested in learning the game while strengthening the camaraderie among those already part of the veteran golf community.
For many years after leaving the military, Jon found himself lacking hobbies and meaningful connection until a close friend introduced him to golf. From there, his love for the sport grew every time he stepped onto a fairway. Every shot gave him something new to focus on, pushing dark thoughts aside and replacing them with a new mission: to enjoy the little things in life.
Jon believes in growing the veteran family through support, understanding, and the bond shared by everyone who served. Regardless of culture or creed, we all signed the dotted line to defend something greater than ourselves.
